Biography
My office is located in the heart of Stone Ridge, right on Main Street. I provide counseling services to children, adolescents and adults through individual, group, Family and couples Therapy. I am experienced in working with Teens and children to build self-esteem, empowerment, and Family acceptance. I engage adolescents and young adults in high crisis situations including emerging psychosis, and suicidal ideation and attempts, and have several years of experience working in substance abuse. I have run many groups for children including social skill building, anger management, storytelling, ADHD, and Teen support. I work with parents to support them and their child/Teen through their areas of concern, challenging issues and to build and enhance their parent toolbox. I thoughtfully care for my adult and young-adult clients as they address life issues and stressors that may arise such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, persistent mental illness, and interpersonal relationships. As well, I have a clinical focus on women's issues. I am specialized in treating the vital and intimate areas where women need extra support pertaining to pregnancy, childbirth and their post-partum experience. It is my joy to witness an individual's world and address them with respect, understanding and validation. I pride myself in having established a safe and nurturing space that allows for clients to feel comfortable and at ease so that they can grow, learn, change, feel secure, and overcome their challenges. I additionally have been teaching graduate courses at Adelphi University and Columbia University as an Adjunct Professor, regularly present continuing education webinars, and offer supervision to fellow clinicians looking for support toward their licensing.
