Group Description:
The Angel Band Project is a free music therapy program for female survivors of sexual assault, and intimate partner violence. The group normally meets at the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Center in Manhattan at NYU but due to Covid 19, we are meeting online until the Fall through Zoom. The group is open to any survivor, no matter if they have a musical background or not. Together, we listen to each other's stories, create music together through singing, improvising, and releasing stress through creative play, meditation, breathwork, listening, gentle movement exercises and journaling. Our NY coordinator will do an intake online to see if the group seems like a good fit for each client and the group is open to 6 participants in total. https://www.angelbandproject.org/our-work/music-therapy
