Biography

I'M PRIMARILY DOING VIRTUAL APPTS. I SEE IN-PERSON CLIENTS ON A LIMITED BASIS. PLEASE INQUIRE FOR MORE INFO.

I work with individuals--youth and adults of all ages--facing relationship and attachment issues, including family, marriage/partner, parent/child, and relationship with self, as well as dealing with anxiety related to life transitions, adjustment challenges, and loss. I also run groups for women. I incorporate parts work and utilize principles of attachment theory, as well as cognitive behavioral techniques. and Dialetical Behavioral Therapy resources. Drawing on 40 years as a somatic and movement practitioner, I ground my work in the body. I use intuition, empathy, compassion, humor, and a spiritual perspective when appropriate, to help guide the process.

Trauma recovery is my one of specialties, particularly adult survivors of childhood abuse. I'm a Certified TRE® (Tension/Trauma Release Exercise) practitioner. TRE® is a body-based, neuro-physiologic self-help method, practiced alone or in groups, to reduce tension, resolve trauma, and improve self-regulation. See https://traumaprevention.com/ I also have extensive experience as a grief counselor.

I have a BA in Holistic Health, concentration Body Therapies. I help clients with chronic stress and pain achieve wellness through life-style changes by integrating holistic mind-body techniques, including Process Work, developed by Arnold Mindell. I maintain a network of holistic practitioners I collaborate with and refer to. I also have a MA in Dance & Movement and am a professional violinist, as well as being a writer. I draw on my background in the arts to offer a expressive element to therapy, help clients express themselves creatively, and incorporate non-verbal modes of communication.
