About My Practice

With 25 years' experience as a professional counselor/psychotherapist, I am comfortable and effective working with clients on many issues--from depression and anxiety to substance abuse, family or relationship issues, parenting, child and adolescent issues, self-esteem, trauma recovery, and anger management.  A particular speciality has been working with people recovering from addictions of all kinds, and I've published several books in this field (Google me!).  My approach is to create an emotionally safe environment where a client can open up and be assured of both confidentiality and of my integrity and competence.  I work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds--both racially, socioeconomically, and in terms of gender orientation.
